CapEQ volunteers completed a busy shift in Reading's food bank recently to help the small team sort through all the donations and prepare extra parcels of Christmas treats.
It's a busy time for donations, so Team CapEQ rolled up our sleeves to decant 30 crates of groceries and toiletries, checking dates and storing for the picking team.
While foodbanks rely heavily on donations, it's interesting that some goods are given in abundance, while others are in short supply.
CapEQ Head of Project Management Michelle Chandler-Haynes said: “We've never seen so many tins of baked beans, tuna fish, and pasta!”
To provide a little festive cheer, we turned up with 250 boxes of chocolates to go out in the Christmas parcels.
Thanks for having us ReadiFood - we'll be back to help out again soon!
