Harris secures 28th acquisition

Harris Computer Corporation has acquired Quicksilva – a SaaS integrator and messaging services provider – to join the acquisitive Canadian tech investor’s healthcare division.

Founded in Chippenham UK in 1999, Quicksilva is best known for bespoke development and project management of NHS integrations, providing easy access and APIs to NHS data and services covering GP systems, summary care records, electronic prescriptions, e-referrals, and child protection triaging.

Headquartered in Ottawa, Harris – along with stablemates Jonas Software and Volaris Group part of Constellation Software Inc – provides software solutions for the public sector, healthcare, utilities and private businesses in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

A new chapter for Quicksilva

Quicksilva founder Gayna Hart said: “I have developed Quicksilva for 20 years and I feel now it is time to see how far it can go with the backing of an investor.”

Post-acquisiton, all 25 Quicksilva employees joined the Harris Healthcare Group alongside other UK acquisitions K2 Medical Systems and Genial Genetics.

James Pugh advised the shareholders of Quicksilva  on the transaction, with legal advice by Woking law firm Mackrell Turner Garrett. Price and terms are undisclosed.
