Canadian technology investor Harris Computer Corporation has completed its 28th acquisition, acquiring Quicksilva, a UK-based leader in NHS IT integration and digital managed services. The deal strengthens Harris’ position in the healthcare technology sector, integrating Quicksilva into its Harris Healthcare Group alongside other UK acquisitions K2 Medical Systems and Genial Genetics.

A Strategic Acquisition: Enhancing NHS Integration Capabilities

Founded in Chippenham, UK, in 1999, Quicksilva has established itself as a trusted provider of bespoke NHS integration services. The company specialises in cloud hosting, digital migrations, professional consultancy, and software development, supporting healthcare organisations in enhancing efficiency, connectivity, and patient outcomes.

Quicksilva is renowned for its API solutions and secure access to NHS data and services, facilitating integrations with: GP systems, Summary care records, Electronic prescriptions, E-referrals and Child protection triaging.

By simplifying complex digital processes, Quicksilva has played a key role in helping healthcare providers and government agencies navigate the challenges of digital transformation.

Speaking about the acquisition, Quicksilva founder Gayna Hart reflected on the decision to sell the business after two decades of development.

Founder Gayna Hart said: “I have developed Quicksilva for 20 years, and I feel now it is time to see how far it can go with the backing of an investor.”

Post-acquisition, all 25 Quicksilva employees have transitioned into the Harris Healthcare Group, ensuring continuity for clients and employees while benefiting from Harris’ extensive resources and global reach.

Harris, headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, operates globally, providing software solutions for a broad industry groups of public sector, healthcare, utilities and private businesses.

Harris is part of Constellation Software Inc., alongside its stablemates Jonas Software and Volaris Group, making it a powerful force in the technology investment space. The acquisition of Quicksilva is part of Harris’ ongoing strategy to expand its presence in the UK and European healthcare markets.

The transaction was advised by James Pugh, with legal advice by Woking-based law firm Mackrell Turner Garrett. The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.
